Théo Jack Scherer (°1997, Paris, France) is an artworker and image-maker. Along side his image-based artistic practice, he is an aspiring-curator currently participating in the KASK & Conservatorium Curatorial Studies program.
In 2022, he completed a M.F.A. in photography at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp, under the supervision of Geert Goiris and Inge Henneman. During this time, he developed a practice focusing on the nature-culture divide - a perspective informed by his academic background in geography.
At the core of his artistic research is the act of traversing urban landscapes, weaving through the fabric of the city, he attentively observes the subtle interactions between nature and culture, he explores various scenes, shifts perspectives, interrogates the decor and interprets built environments as a stage where the existence of natural elements is incessantly revealed.
In short, his image-fragments question the poetics of contemporary spaces.
